Autumn 2012                               Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful!

Greetings!
 Dear (Contact First Name),

Autumn......a glorious time of year. There is a definite change in the air, crisp mornings, warm afternoons. The world is golden and ripe. The harvest is coming in, delicious apples, scrumptious squash and pumpkins, delights for the taste buds and the soul.

Thanksgiving is around the corner! Gatherings with family and friends and all the blessings that comes with it. In our fast paced life, it is easy to forget to stop and ponder on all we have to be thankful for. It is very refreshing to stop at some point everyday and reflect on the good things we have in our lives.

Fall is a wonderful season and we hope yours is especially enjoyable!
Back in School!
Children's Dentistry
Autumn signals the start to school. Students and teachers are hard at work. If you stop and think about it...we are all teachers and we are all students. There is something that can be learned and shared every day.
We adults know about oral hygiene and what it means to go to the dentist but for a child's first visit, it can be very intimidating. How can we make it a pleasant experience that will keep them looking forward to coming to the dentist? If we are afraid of the dentist, and many of us are, how can we avoid passing that fear to our children?  Click here for an excellent article on your child's first visit.
Creating an appreciation for regular dental care in your child now is very important to a lifetime of great dental health.
And the winner is......

Be Thankful!

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn
Be Thankful for the difficult times
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you are tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also
thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and
they can become your blessings.

There is so much in life that we can be grateful for that we sometimes take for granted. Many times it is our health, especially our oral health. Making sure your smile is healthy keeps your body healthier. Take care of your smile by making sure you are up to date with your regular dental checkup and cleaning. Take care of any dental problems as soon as they arise. Be sure to brush and floss your teeth at least twice everyday to maintain a happy healthy smile!

Sincerely,

Did you know?

Identifying cavities is high tech! In the past it took time for the signs of tooth decay to show. Now with the aid of a device called a diagnodent, dentists can identify problem areas early. It enables the doctor to protect and preserve tooth structure when very small lesions are found.

Another handy tool is the intraoral camera. This handy little tool lets the dentist show patients exactly what is going on in their mouth. It provides a clear, visual record for patient files and the dentist can refer back to it time and time again to watch for changes. The tooth is enlarged 40 times making it easy to see where care is needed. The dentist and patient can view the image at the same time allowing the dentist to explain exactly what the patient is seeing and the patient can ask questions about what they see on the screen.

Delmarva Dental Services

has both the diagnodent and intraoral cameras. Together with visual and x-ray exams, we will make sure your mouth is healthy!
