Ahhhh......spring! It's a season most people look forward to. The season of new beginnings, of rebirth. The world is coming alive again with flowers, leaves on the trees and birds chirping happily with the warmer days.

What's new at DDS?

Delmarva Dental Services strives to stay on the cutting edge of technology so that we are able to provide the best possible care our patients not only need but deserve.

One of the best things to come about for patient care is the CBCT. This is a scanner that captures a 3 dimensional scan of your jaw. This scan gives the doctor so much more to work with and eliminates a lot of "guesswork" when it comes to difficult cases. There are so many things that can be seen in the scan that is just impossible to see in a regular x-ray. It allows the doctor to rotate the image to see all angles of the tooth in question. It allows him to measure to see how much bone is available for implants. It lets him see the roots of a tooth, their length, shape and relationship to the teeth around it for a better extraction experience if that is what you need. He can even see how large an abscess is and how much of the bone has been affected by it Some may be concerned about radiation exposure but it is minimal. Check out our chart for more details here. The benefits of a 3D scan are amazing. We at Delmarva Dental Services are proud that we can provide this service to our patients now. It is our aim to provide our patients with the best dental care possible.
