 our doctors

Summer is easily one of the most favorite seasons of the year for alot of people. It is a season of vacations, no school, and fun, fun, fun. It is the season of smiles. How bright and healthy is yours? The best way to keep it in top shape is with excellent home care and regular trips to the dentist.

There are so many products out there to help us with our home care, which ones do we choose? We are bombarded with so much information from the ads we see on tv or in magazines to the ones we hear about on the radio. We know we can't believe everything we see or hear so how do  we know what to trust?
Our doctors at Delmarva Dental Services strive to stay up to date on the newest trends and technologies and pass along what we learn to all we know. We hope that you enjoy learning along with us and if you have a question about something you have always wanted to know from your dentist, please feel free to ask us. We will do our best to find the answer for you.
Biofilm....can it really just be rinsed away?

 biofilm2

You may have seen ads recently that say you can rinse away biofilm.  What is biofilm? Is it dangerous? Is a rinse all you need to get rid of it or is something more required? Biofilm is found everywhere, including our bodies. They are layers of bacteria, fungi and other organisms held together by a glue-like gel, which sticks to surfaces. There are so many types that it takes more than one method to remove them. A rinse may help, but more is needed. For a detailed, informative article, click here

Straight talk on crooked teeth!

aligners goodHaving straight teeth is for more than just good looks. Straight teeth are even more important for the health of your body. Crowded teeth or teeth that are misaligned can cause a variety of problems that can complicate and worsen conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and Alzheimers just to name a few. In younger women, it can even cause babies to be born prematurely and have a low birth weight. Really?? Yes, really!  Straightening your teeth is a small investment towards life long health and happiness. Learn more here:
