Graham Gallery for Art Lovers and Photography Fans

After the winter we've have had, everyone needs to get out and enjoy life a little, and I have some events for you to do just that!!

I am excited to tell you about 2, yes double the fun, events that are being held at the Graham Gallery, in downtown Hastings, in February that you just can't miss.

The first event is called Evening for Art Lovers.  It will be a great event for all that love and collect art of all types.  If you are new to collecting art this is the perfect event to mingle with others that love and collect art!!  Click here to read more about it, and get contact information.  "Caregiver" shown above will be my image to select at this event!  I hope to see you there!

The second event is a group photography show that will be held from February 22 until March 27.  There will be a gallery reception on March 6 from 2-4pm.

This wonderful event will be showcasing the talent of local photographers from black and white still life by yours truly, to conceptual and landscapes.  Stop by anytime to see the exhibitions, and if at all possible stop by for a visit during the gallery reception.

I hope to see all my Nebraska friends and fans at the Graham Gallery!
The Visual Sound
2

A paint brush is just a tool when not in the hands of a skilled painter, a guitar is just a tool when not in the hands of a skilled musician, and a camera is just a tool when not in the hands of a master of light.

Can the tools of one art genre be works of art in another?  Inspired by Cole Thompson's work on simple light fixtures, I set out to see.

I decided to explore the visual beauty of musical tools, mainly those used in the blues and jazz genres, to see if these instruments of sound can in fact become visual works of art.

The first in this series was a simple guitar.  With one light, a black backdrop, the radio set to the blues station, and some creative thinking I began to explore the visual beauty of musical tools.

Go to Jason Jilg Photography to see the 6 photographs in the guitar series under the 10x10 project.

4 of these photographs will be on display at the Graham Gallery for the Photography Exhibition.

Ok, all you guys and gals, here is your warning.  Valentine's Day is coming.  Again, Valentine's Day is coming up FAST.  There you have had ample warning.

Now, you can do the same flowers and dinner you have done for years, and sure your loved one will still enjoy it.  Or, you can do something that your loved one will think you put a lot of thought and love into, and they will more than just enjoy it for a day or two.  It will last for years to come!

Don't worry I have made it super easy.

I have put together 2 sets of photographs.  One for the loving woman in your life, and one for that special man.

The set for the gals is a set of 4-8"x8" black and white photographs of flowers.  This classic set will look great on any wall, won't die in 2 weeks, and have been super popular with women at art fairs.  This is a sure win for you on the day of love!

Valentine's gifts for us men are usually a little tricky.  We don't usually expect much on Valentine's day, and can feel a little awkward getting flowers at the work place.

Listen up ladies,  here is your chance to get him something he won't expect, he will love, and want to show off.  You can't lose!!!

The guys set  is 4-10"x5" black and white photographs of the Nebraska country landscape.

Here is the best news of all!  Each set, including tax and shipping, will only be $50 until February 14th.

Just go to Jason Jilg Photography to see each set under the Vday Gallery tab.  To order just click on the Purchase Flowers or Country tab, and then click the sales info to order via Credit Card through our store front.  Want to pay by check, just contact me at jasonjilg@hotmail.com.
