Butler Coach Brad Stevens goes barefoot for Samaritan's Feet
Coach Stevens

Do you have connections with coaches, schools, businesses, churches and organizations within your community?  Chances are you do.  By joining the Samaritan's Feet National Barefoot Committee, you could turn this simple connection into a means to provide shoes to children in need.

Barefoot for Bare Feet is a movement of groups and individuals who participate in barefoot activities, walks, and games throughout the U.S. to accomplish the goals of Samaritan's Feet.  They are coaches, athletes, executives, teenagers, musicians, and parents, all making the bold statement that we can no longer sit idle and ignore the growing needs of others.

As a member of the National Barefoot Committee, your role would be to promote Samaritan's Feet Barefoot Coaching events  within your social network.  Your responsibilities would include identifying and contacting potential partners to partake in barefoot events as well as participating in one or two short conference calls per month with other committee members.

Contacts within your sphere of influence  are one of the most powerful methods of expanding the Barefoot Movement and the impact of Samaritan's Feet.  We need you to join the National Barefoot Committee and help us grow the number of impoverished children who receive shoes and hope through our organization.

To learn more about joining our National Barefoot Committee, please contact  our Barefoot  Events Coordinator Whitney  Saucedo at  (317) 850-7710, or wsaucedo@samaritansfeet.org.

 Washing 1

As the eyes of the world are fixed on South Africa with the kickoff of the 2010 World Cup,  Samaritan's Feet South Africa is very much in the game.

Over the next month, SFSA will partner with YWAM and Living Hope ministries to reach out to impoverished individuals throughout the country.  They plan to  bless around 5,000 individuals  with a message of hope, clean feet and a new pair of shoes.

Samaritan's Feet South Africa is an effort led by Mark and Caroline Collie to spread the mission of Samaritan's Feet to southern Africa.  After the games, SFSA will continue partnering with churches, schools, government agencies and industry to source and distribute shoes throughout the country.

DetroitJune2010Inkster Students Get New Shoes for Summer!

On Saturday June 5th, hundreds of school children from Inkster, Michigan received a special gift of new shoes and socks from Samaritan's Feet.  Aramark Corporation in partnership with the Inkster School System hosted the Samaritan's Feet Shoes of Hope event, which was held at the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.

Not only were the children grades kindergarten through ninth blessed with new athletic shoes, the church also supplied lunch for the shoe recipients and their parents.

The Viking Pride Alumni Association, the Top Ladies of Ascension, and the League of Christian Women all provided volunteers for the distribution.  Inkster JROTC members also gave their time to serve at the event, impacting their peers in a profound way.

Due to the success of the shoe distribution and the overwhelming need in the community, volunteers in that region are already planning the next Samaritan's Feet event in September.
