The City of Compton in California has been challenged with gun and gang violence, and the local community is determined to help create a safer environment for their families and neighborhoods.

To reach out to the citizens of Compton, Samaritan's Feet partnered with Faith Inspirational Church and Compton Parks and Recreation to present a free "Movie in the Park' and Back to School Festival at Leuders Park. This event provided local residents with an opportunity to enjoy fun activities with their family and friends in a secure and safe environment.

Faith Inspiration Church provided free hot dogs and beverages at the movie, and local barbers offered free 'back to school' haircuts for students.

In addition, five hundred youth aged eighteen and younger received a new backpack filled with school supplies along with a new pair of athletic footwear through Samaritan's Feet.
Join Carolina Panthers Wide Receiver Muhsin Muhammad and other celebrity friends of Samaritan's Feet at our 6th Annual Charity Golf Event!

The Story of Elias
The Story of Elias

Elias
(Nine year old Elias pictured above wearing his brand new pair of shoes!)

World Missions Outreach in partnership with Samaritans Feet has begun a new program  covering the feet of Nicaragua's youth.

We and our ministers actively go out into some of the poorest areas of Nicaragua and wash the feet of Nicaragua's young people.

Through our ministry here in Nicaragua we are able to reach a multitude of children with the Gospel and then give them what most of have only dreamed for, a new pair of shoes not worn by anyone else. These shoes can mean the world to these youth.

For example, before nine year old Elias (pictured above)  was given shoes, he would frequently run through his neighborhood with no shoes or old second hand flip flops.

Elias comes from a difficult home life where his father has abandoned him and his siblings. His mother is in and out of the hospital as she battles terminal cancer. And while all his siblings have chosen not to continue in school during this difficult time, he perseveres.

His new shoes give him a small piece of normality in a world that is anything but normal. They also allow for him to continue in school which requires that all students wear shoes.

Would you like to personally  touch the lives of impoverished children like Elias?
