Customer Corner
I received my new Bosch mixer and have been using it a lot. I LOVE IT!!!!! It is everything I hoped for and then some. I may be adding to it as well with a spare mixing bowl too. I have to wait on that a bit though. I love the bowl scraper for my Bosch and have told several friends who all have the same mixer about it. They now too will be ordering the bowl scraper attachment. Blessing to you and your family, Peg P. I ordered a Bosch kitchen machine last fall, and just wanted you to know that I LOVE it! It's so easy to use. I no longer feel like I'm going to blow up my little hand-held mixer when mixing up cookie dough. I enjoy making bread about twice a month with the Bosch. I do two batches in a row and freeze all the dough. It's so convenient to set the dough out at night, and bake it the next morning. I love that my family gets to have fresh bread nearly every day! Thank you also for including your DVD. It was very helpful to "see" the instructions and all the creative ways to use the bread dough. I've tried all the recipes, except the raisin bread. Tips for the Harried Woman
Seasons Change...in road of life
Life in the Sutton home is changing seasons. Both our moms are widowed and are in their 80s. We have for years taken care of them with household and yard work, errands, and other 'being a good kid' things. However, God is opening a new season to us as our aging mothers are both facing dementia. I think to say 'tough to watch' would be an understatement. Many of you are already experiencing elder care and understand the emotions welling inside of me even as I write. Our moms who were once vibrant and multitask machines now need help to process the simple of task. It hurts deep in my heart to watch our moms struggle. So as the four seasons change beyond our control, the cycle of life is changing and marching on.
One of the things that I have come to grips with lately is to embrace the change and know that God's grace will be present even in the dark moments. Really isn't this how we are to look at all of life?
I have realized I need to have my kids involved in the care and help them to learn new ways to honor their grandmothers in this great responsibility. Too often we want to shelter our kids from the aging process but this is a great opportunity to teach them responsibility.
You can follow my road on my blog or face book to read a several part series on the subject of caring for the aging parent.
