Welcome to Paula's Bread
Dear Fellow Breadlovers,

As promised from last month's newsletter, here are the toppings to dress up your bread!  It really is easy to do and people will think you have slaved away making the what appears to be artisan bread that is all the rave today!  Next month, I will show you how to use the cutter/scraper to make multiple breads with the basic Bosch Bread recipe!

I have included some fun ideas for St. Patrick's Day.  I love that I can make two completely different type courses (the dinner bread to dessert!)  Bread is an amazing, versatile type medium to work with.

God bless you,
paula :)

St. Patrick's Day Bread Dessert!

St Patrick's Day Dessert w/ bread

Use the basic Bosch bread recipe for your base in beginning this wonderful bread dessert!  (Click here for Bread Recipe)

Step One: Simply roll the dough into a rectangle.  Cover with butter and green dyed sugar.

Clover Rectangle

Step Two: Roll and cut with your trusty dental floss!  Place in clover shape.  Roll the 'stem' in the green dyed sugar and place between the two 'clover leaves.'

Step Three: Don't let it rise but put it directly into a 350 oven because you don't want it to get too large.  Bake till golden brown.

Dressing Up Your Bread!

Last month, I shared with you different glazes to make your bread look pretty and add flavor (olive oil glaze).  The main glaze for the garnishing is the egg "wash" because you need to have a sticky type glaze to make the garnishes stay on the bread dough.  You then bake the raised bread dough to a golden brown. The garnishing add great beauty to your bread. It will make your bread have the artisan look without all the fuss.  All will be impressed with your great baking style!

Poppy Seed Garnish: Use an egg wash to make the dough color nicely during the baking stage.  You simply sprinkle the poppy seeds over the egg washed bread. However, you can press the dough into the poppy seed.  This will keep them from rolling off the dough as it bakes.  I made dinner rolls.  They make a beautiful presentation for your dinner.

Sesame Seed Garnish: Use an egg wash to give the dough a golden brown effect then press the sesame seeds into the dough OR sprinkle them on the bread.  You can leave the egg wash off IF you want a light colored dough.  This is best with hamburger buns.

Bran Garnish:  When you are using your L'Equip Flour Sifter with your Bosch Universal Mixer, you have bran left over.  This is yet another place to use the wonderful bran!  Use the egg wash; then, sprinkle with the bran.  It makes a golden look over your bread.

Bran Bread Topping

Dried Onion Flake Garnish: This is great, especially if you have cut in 1/4 chopped green onion and 3/4 cup shredded cheese into the loaf.

Oat Garnish:
Glaze the bread dough with an egg wash.  Sprinkle with raw rolled oats.  It will cook nicely and give a great look!

Bosch Universal Plus Mixer

I like Paula's Bread and love my Bosch mixer/blender/food processor. Bosch stands behind their products. I used my blender for a smoothie and when I removed it from the Bosch base the blade attachment fell off the bottom (possibly operator error) and the smoothie drown the motor which made it squeal loudly. I sent it in and they replaced the blender bottom, replaced the Bosch motor and gave me a plastic tab to keep bread dough out of the middle pole. The best part-all? It  was free because they have a great warranty. Have had some great smoothies since then with no problems. Can't wait for cookie baking day with my friend. She's excited to get to use the Bosch herself.

Tips for the Harried Woman
So Long Insecurities
I have recently been reading Beth Moore's book, "So Long Insecurity."  She begins the book by stating how hard it was to even buy the book much less letting others know you are reading a book titled, "So Long Insecurities!"  How true, how true.  I agree with her whole-heartedly that all of us have areas we are insecure.  Don't be fooled that all others are totally secure and not struggling with insecurities like you.  We are all in the same boat but just sitting in  different places on the boat of insecurity.

So with that said, Beth Moore has some very practical suggestions to overcoming the insecurities and foremost is realizing we need NOT look to people, circumstances, money, our looks for our security.  I do recommend reading the book.  You can always tell all around that you are reading the book to help all the 'other' people with their insecurities; and then, let healing begin in your own life. :)

Truly the one who loves us most with all our quirks, and who gives us a large place of security is Jesus.  I am so grateful that even with all my quirky insecurities, Jesus loves me.

Once again, a good book for these cold winter months: "So Long Insecurities," by Beth Moore.

 Encouraging Thoughts:
by Come Thirsty

"The worrisome heart pays a high price...Worry comes from the Greek word that means "to divide the mind."  Anxiety splits us right down the middle...Rather than take away tomorrow's trouble, worry voids today's strength.  Perception is divided, distorting your vision....Who can afford to lose power?

But how can we stop doing so: Paul offers a two-pronged answer:  God's part and our part.  Our part includes prayer and gratitude.  "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done." (Philippians 4:6 NLT, emphasis mine)
.  God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand."
