So this is the month that we focus on thanksgiving...or perhaps the turkey dinner and then a football game.
I guess I am all about trying to build memories and my kids getting ingrained in them to be thankful. I have an interesting challenge to all of us. I read a short article by John Dralik about his book "365 Thank you" I haven't read the book so I am not endorsing it but I am endorsing his thought to be thankful and express it! He purposed to write a thank you note to at least one person and mail it every day for a full year!
He wrote: "The more thanks you's I wrote, the more I found to be grateful for. ...a doctor whom I thanked for surgery done years early on me wrote me back 'I don't often get to hear long-term feed back from patients, particularly when they are doing well.'
When things go wrong people are quick to complain and assign blame. When things are going well we don't say anything nor give credit nor thanks. Is it possible we are viewing life from a skewed perspective? We overlook blessings in our life thus we are not thankful."
I have purposed for the month of November, our time to be thankful, to write a note of thanks to present/past people in my life, I want to thank those who have impacted my life and taught me valuable lessons to live by.
When we express our thanks, it will help document to us we truly have much to be grateful for. We won't struggle at the Thanksgiving dinner when asked what we are thankful for!
