Happy new year! We hope that you were able to spend some quality time with your student over the holidays. The University of South Carolina is back in full swing, as the residence halls open Wednesday, Jan. 6, at noon. Spring semester classes begin a week from today on Monday, Jan. 11.

As classes resume, encourage your student to take a renewed, invigorated look at his or her classes and involvement on campus as opportunities for new connections and improved academic performance. As parents, we encourage you to continue becoming familiar with University resources so you can direct your student to the appropriate office or department for assistance as he or she learns to handle his or her own problems and concerns.
