Greetings from Carolina! Your student has been on campus for a few weeks now, and we hope he or she is getting adjusted and settled for another school year! Encourage your student to get involved on campus. The Student Organization Fair is tomorrow, and students can learn about the more than 300 organizations on campus!
Football season starts Thursday with Carolina's first game at N.C. State! Carolina alumni clubs around the country will host viewing parties for this game and throughout the season, and parents are invited to join them! Click here for more information and locations! Parents Weekend 2009 registration ends soon!
Parents Weekend is just around the corner (Oct. 2-4), and registration ends on Friday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. (EDT). Click here to register now! Parents Weekend is a great time to visit campus and your student's college home for a weekend of activities planned especially for families! If you have already registered for Parents Weekend, make sure to check back periodically for schedule updates because we are adding more activities each week.

Learn more about H1N1 and Carolina's preparations to protect our students
H1N1 flu is affecting communities around the country, and the University of South Carolina and Student Health Services are working to protect the health and safety of our students. Encourage your student to monitor Student Health Services' Web site for flu-related news and important information for how to prevent the spread of the illness. Students with the flu-like symptoms described at that Web site should call Student Health Services at 803-777-3658. MyStudentBody®: for students and parents!
The MyStudentBody® online alcohol-education module addresses the many problems associated with high-risk college drinking by helping students  identify and track their drinking behaviors and risks. All incoming degree-seeking students who are under the age of 23 are required to complete the alcohol module prior to registering for spring 2010 classes. The deadline to take the assessment is October 1, 2009. If your student is in his or her first semester at Carolina, encourage him or her to complete this requirement soon!
