Everyone is asking the same questions -  When does construction start?  When will we open?

The answer is quite simple. Two things need to happen before we can begin the store build out process. 

1. Secure all financing
2. Find the perfect General Manager

The financing pieces consist of:

1. Owner Equity (Membership, Member Loans and Fundraising)
2. Community Funds (USDA grant to GVEA to loan to us)
3. Commercial Loan

Spring Plant Sale with Risse Greenhouse!

You will want to put Sunday, May 22 on your calendar. We are hosting an awesome plant sale at our store site (the Foodland building parking lot) with our Community Partner,

Risse Greenhouse.  

There will be hanging baskets, planters, flower and vegetable bedding plants.

PLUS, a petting zoo with new lambs from Turning Light Farms.

and last, but not least, tours of our store site.

 

All this will be happening from 9 am to 1 pm on Sunday, May 22 at the store site parking lot (546 Gaffney Road). Come early for the best selection of plants!

Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) recently decided to apply for a Rural Economic Development Grant of $300,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The grant will be used by GVEA to establish a revolving economic development loan fund in Fairbanks.
