Winter in Vermont - Trails
Don't let the winter get you down... go out and enjoy the great outdoors! This is why we love Vermont, right?
- Where: Check out Trail Finder or Trail Link for walking, hiking, cross country skiiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling trails.
- Conditions: If you're snowmobiling, be sure to review the trail conditions before you head out. If you're skiing, check the Alpine or Nordic ski conditions.
- Safety: Remember that it gets dark quickly in the winter, and many trails won't have cell reception. While you should still bring a cell phone just in case, there are other ways to be prepared: dress in layers, pack a flashlight and water, and make sure others know where you'll be and how long you'll be there.

Home Safety Tips - Carbon Monoxide
Carbon monoxide poisoning can happen any time of the year, but the danger is greater during the winter due to increased usage of ovens and heating appliances. Carbon monoxide is an odorless killer, and recent improvements in CO detectors could save your life.
- Why: Carbon monoxide poisoning can happen to anyone. A recent CO leak in Killington left one man dead and eight others hospitalized. Our friends Nick and Jessica at Vermont Investments had their own carbon monoxide scare over the holidays. So please make sure you have working CO detectors in your home!
