| Food Drives at Local Companies a Huge Success | |

On September 15, and over the course of several days, fourteen local companies in eight communities held food drives within their offices to support the United Way of Tri-County in its efforts to help reduce the numbers of hungry families in the Tri-County area.

Commited to Community Collaboration

Over the next three years, the United Way of Tri-County will allocate over $8 million, investing over $4.5 million of that to support programs and services in our local communities. With the help of our donors and partner organizations, we will be able to help people in 34 communities, impacting the areas of Education, Financial Stability, Health, and Basic Needs.
The largest impact area is that of Basic Human Needs. Over the next three years, UWTC will disperse over $1.4 million to ensure that people have food, housing, and other fundamental things that most of us take for granted on a daily basis. We are committed to increasing the capacity of people to care for one another, and aim to reduce the devastating impact that misfortunes such as homelessness and hunger are having on local families. A Place to Turn
The United Way of Tri-County is partnering with A Place to Turn in Natick, MA in support of the program, "Healthy Learner: Feed the Body, Feed the Mind." This program provides extra funding for families with school-aged children, allowing parents to not only have healthy meals on hand for their children, but also to pack healthy snacks like juice boxes and apple sauce to bring to school. This boosts the morale of their parents who feel good about providing their children with food, and boosts the morale of the kids, who get to be like every other kid in school. |
