The United Way of Tri-County is pleased to announce a new addition to its list of programs and services. On July 5, the Volunteer Center was opened for business.

The United Way of Tri-County Volunteer Center connects corporations and employees with volunteer opportunities to help people in need. The center supports non-profit organizations to partner effectively with volunteers, develop volunteer leaders, and impassion advocates for volunteerism in the community. We help corporations and their employees help others.

Community Spotlight
Issue: Childhood Obesity
For the first time in American history, our children's life expectancy may be shorter than their parents.

Statistics:
In Massachusetts, 1/3 of middle and high school students are overweight or obese. While 1 out of 7 children under the age of 5 are overweight or obese.

Our Solution:

Playgrounds: Age appropriate, safe and secure, open playsgrounds for families to gather and kids to run, swing, jump and use their imagination.
Born Learning Trails: These Trails have 10 fun outdoor games to help parents and caregivers create learning opportunities for a young child.  The Trails help to boost children's language and literacy skills and encourage families to get active.

bulbECM Campaign Tip:
Have FUN with your United Way campaign! Contests, games, inter-departmental competitions help raise awareness and enjoyment of  the campaign. What outrageous and attention-getting stunt could you talk your CEO into doing?  Contact your account manager today to do some brain-storming!
