Donor Report: Who You Help

The day in 2001 that Pathways Shelter moved into its current facilities in Framingham, its director, Marita Boyd was giving tours to local dignitaries and representatives of the state government.  "But our real job in the future," Marita reminded the visitors, "is to eventually close this and all shelters, to have permanent housing for these families, not just one room."
 
Sadly, Pathways Shelter and all the other family shelters across the state are doing a booming business, as the number of homeless families continues to rise in the face of ever increasing economic uncertainty. Over three thousand families were served by shelters in Massachusetts last year. In a recent conversation with Marita Boyd, the director of Pathways Shelter for some 15 years now, she updated us on who she sees at the shelter.

Three Teams Join Our United Way Youth Venture Program

Congratulations to the three new United Way of Tri-County Youth Venture teams Milford Youth Challenge Crue, Play for a Day, and Apply for Assistance. These teams join the other Venture teams involved to bring our total of teams to nine since we began our partnership with Youth Venture in 2008.

We are delighted to announce that United Way Distribution Services has expanded to open a new warehouse at 111 Milk Street in Westborough, MA.  

As always, you can continue to find great products & prices at our Haverhill warehouse. It will be our pleasure to serve you at our new location with the same quality and service you have come to expect of us. We hope to see you soon!

This year, our United Way of Tri-County was selected as a Lead Agency for Global Youth Service Day (GYSD). Our goal was to engage over 600 youth and adults in volunteer services and projects.
