How do you LIVE UNITED?

Do you give? Do you advocate? Do you volunteer? How do you join in and do your part?

Our newsletter shows you what your friends and neighbors are doing to LIVE UNITED - let us hear from you about what you're doing. Or tell us about the unsung hero on your street, in the next cubicle, or at your church. LIVE UNITED is a call to action - how are you seeing it answered? More importantly, why? Let us know!

So please take a moment to review how other people are pitching in, and finding ways to advance the cause. We have news about scholarships, our backpack program, and our upcoming holiday program. Is there a story we should be covering? Tell us!

We would like to thank the dozens of companies and their employees that are in the process of kicking off their 2009 United Way Campaigns. Your efforts are greatly appreciated by thousands of families and individuals that we help every day. We're off to a strong start, and we know that we can count on you for support.

Please give generously and LIVE UNITED!

Regards,
Paul L. Mina
President & CPO

bulbOctober Campaign Tip:

Don't go it alone! If you are your company's Campaign Coordinator, talk to your manager about creating a team to help run the campaign.  Raising money from work colleagues is a big job, and you deserve to have help doing it! You and your colleagues will learn new ways to LIVE UNITED!

United Way of Tri-County Helps Kids Go Back to School Prepared to Learn
For the past 10 years, the United Way of Tri-County has worked to ensure that local kids return to school prepared to learn. Through the generosity of local companies and individuals they've raised more than $100,000 and distributed over 4000 backpacks to local kids through their Back-to-School Backpack Program.

This year 17 companies volunteered their time and donated their money to help make the program a success in 11 local youth serving agencies.
