Greetings,
As the Ad club begins a new fiscal year, it's a great feeling to know we are off to a great start. A member recently asked about the future of the club, so I wanted to take this opportunity to give a brief overview of what's on the horizon.
- Our new board of directors has taken office this month.
- We will continue to bring in additional leaders to help with club operations and growth.
- A new identity (rolling out in the next couple of months) has been developed.
- This will include a new logo, redesigned newsletter and, in the works, a revamped web site.
- The goal of the "rebrand" is to bring the focus back to our local community. The club will continue to maintain our national affiliation and membership. As outlined in our revised by-laws, the club will be doing business as "the Phoenix Ad Club, Member AAF."
- In regards to programs and events, we have developed a strategy to allow for greater engagement opportunities and variety in our offerings, by:
- Providing more options for event locations and times (we understand that sometimes it's challenging to take a huge chunk out of your busy day to attend lunch events)
- Increasing networking opportunities, such as our bi-monthly mixers (we'll also be partnering with Ad2 and other industry organizations on a few events)
- Developing top-level speaker programs along with flagship events (ADDYs, Fall Preview)
- Providing programs focused on industry-related topics, such as, trends, topical issues and recognition
- Providing education programs focused on best practices, technology and personal development
- And hosting "members-only" events.
- Planning for the 2013 National AAF conference as begun. This event will bring national speakers to the valley as well as great programs/networking events and the National ADDY awards and National Student Advertising Competition.
- And much more.
Our objectives are targeted with the goal of building a greater community as a whole--not just a club. So, if there is a specific event, benefit or resource you would like to see, please feel free to pass along recommendations and input.
Finally, be sure to register to attend our first event of our new membership year: THINK BIG. CREATE BIG. on July 23rd. Panelists will share their insights and experience that will inspire you to get your own creative mojo going and answer those burning questions you always wanted to ask. There is limited seating available, so don't hesitate to register.
Best,
Mark Anthony Munoz
AAFMP President

Thank you for your continued support and participation. If you have any questions, I can personally be reached at president@aafmetrophoenix.com. All comments, constructive criticism and suggestions to make the ad club better are welcome.

Phoenix company signs Las Vegas billboard deal
One of developer Steve Ellman's companies has signed an exclusive deal to sell advertising on a Las Vegas digital billboard longer than a football field, Ellman said. Branded Cities Network, a division of Ellman's Phoenix-based EL Media Holdings USA, will sell digital advertising and integrated marketing campaigns for a new full-motion billboard measuring more than 18,000 square feet in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, he said.
The digital sign is located at the massive CityCenter mixed-use development, developed by MGM Resorts International and Dubai World. Ellman said the sign, measuring 60 feet high and 308 feet long, is roughly 27 times the size of a typical roadside billboard. The sign's individual LED lamps are just 12 millimeters apart, he said, giving the screen a resolution comparable to that of a high-end high-definition TV.
It's the largest high-definition LED sign ever built, Ellman said. azcentral.com Read more ...
