Qwest Denied Forbearance Appeal by 10th Circuit
Last week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit denied Qwest's petition for review of the Federal Communications Commission's order denying Qwest relief from unbundling and dominant carrier regulation in the Phoenix metropolitan statistical area. The court's full decision can be found here.

ADVOCACY
Meetings Scheduled for September 20
in D.C. about Sale of Toll Free Numbers

Aelea Christofferson of COMPTEL member company ATL Communications has scheduled meetings on September 20, 2012, between company executives involved in the 8YY industry and Rep. Greg Walden, chairman of the House Communications and Technology subcommittee, and staff from the FCC Wireline Competition Bureau and Enforcement Bureau. The meetings focus on how the sale of toll free numbers are handled. If enough companies support this effort by having their executive attend the meetings, additional meetings with FCC Commissioners will be requested.
