It's Never Too Late To Give!

The United Way is appealing to the community for help staving off a major shortfall for its 2011 campaign which would normally end March 15 but is being extended to March 23.

At the time of this report the community has raised $522,504 or 91% of the $575,000 goal. "We know it's been a tough year, but we can't put the needs of our community on hold!" said Joan Fulkroad, Junata County Campaign Ambassador. Fulkroad went on to explain

that the recent 9-1-1 address updates in Juniata County was a hurdle for United Way, with mail being returned to the office as "undeliverable." The United Way staff were able to get addresses corrected and a mailing was sent out in early February. "Now we need people to respond, and respond quickly," said Fulkroad.

To help assure that the local United Way partner agency resources will be available in the coming year, United Way is asking the community to consider a small way to make a big difference through one final appeal - asking first time donors to give $25 and past donors to give an additional $25.
