MATCHING GRANT FUNDS FROM THE ROTARY FOUNDATION: THE FUNDS ARE FULLY COMMITTED FOR 2009-2010
|
From The Rotary Foundation: "The Matching Grant
budget for the 2009-2010 Rotary year was significantly reduced from prior years
as a result of the unrealized investment losses due to the global economic
recession. As of September 1, 2009, the Matching Grant budget was fully
committed and the Trustees of the Foundation are unable to approve any
additional non-competitive grant applications for Rotary Year 2009-2010."

DISTRICT 5100 PLANS FOR REMAINING DDF FUNDS
|
The District 5100 Grants Sub-Committee has received 19 grants from sponsoring clubs and their partnering clubs this year. Thirteen have been certified and sent on to The Rotary Foundation for approval and funding.
According to District 5100 Rotary Foundation Chair Don Kenny, we need to wait and see which grants are funded, At that time, we analyze what District Designated Funds (DDF) are remaining that could be used to help fund club grants that didn't receive funding from TRF.
This may take a month
and, as soon as we have word, sponsoring clubs with grants will be notified on the status of their grant. The plan for disbursement of any remaining DDF Funds will be shared with all clubs at that time.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ROTARY: OCTOBER 10, 2009
|
The Rotarian magazine is launching an ambitious photo documentary. On October 10, 2009 Rotarians worldwide are asked to take photos of fellow club members in action - from humanitarian work to fellowship.
E-mail up to three of your club's best high-resolution photos to [email protected] and copy DG Kristi before October 17, 2009.
We'll judge all the entries from District 5100 sent into The Rotarian magazine and post the top 2 photos in the November Monthly Club News Bulletin and on the District Website.
