Like many people at City Church and Tallahassee in general, I came to Tallahassee to attend FSU never thinking I would be here 11 years later (but so happy I am). I graduated from St. Pete High in June of 2001 and came to FSU two weeks later. While I was at FSU I majored in Finance, was in Kappa Delta sorority, and had a great internship at Morgan Stanley. After college I worked for Morgan Stanley for another 5 years and I'm now I work in financial services at the Florida League of Cities, where I have a wonderful job doing exactly what I want to be doing.

My journey with City Church began about 5 years ago in 2007. I had chance meeting (or just a random meeting) with City Church member while studying for the GMAT at Starbucks that really altered my life. Thinking back to the moment I am so thankful that person went out on a limb to invite me to their non-conventional church.

After a few years of calling City Church my home, I found exactly what I had been missing in my life and what I had been praying for - a community of Christian friends, ultimately my wonderful husband, and now a baby boy due in November! Being married, starting a family, and living a simple and quiet life as God asks has been the most rewarding experience.

A recurring theme in our sermons and throughout the Bible God's reminds of His timing, a simple concept, but one that cannot be discussed enough. God does not promise that he will find us a great job, a spouse, or bless us with children, but he does promise fulfillment in Him, the caveat being we have to want it and yearn for it.

I wish I had a crystal ball before this time to see the amazing plans God had for me. I wish I would have trusted the word and turned to the word instead of so many other unsatisfying sinful things.

Fortunately, when I decided to truly surrender to God He allowed City Church to completely transform my life. I hope and pray that you have the same experience!
