So excited for the opportunity to share a little bit about myself and my experience with the amazing City Church family. My name is Allyson Brown and I am a 22 year old recent Business graduate of Florida State University! In a month I will be packing up and moving to Atlanta to work with Paul Mitchell Beauty Systems.

I was first introduced to City Church by girls in my Freshman Class. From the first service I attended I could tell that there was something different about this church and they way they connected not only with college students, but the city. 

I first began volunteering as a greeter at the Godby High School location. We would do everything and anything to get people pumped for the service - I'm pretty sure we had hula-hoops out there at some point! 

From Day 1, Dean and the crew have always made a point to clarify the act of stewardship. Most people believe that in order to be on God's good side we need to complete a certain list of deeds and 'be a good person' - but thanks to City Church, we know better. 

1 Peter 4:10 says it perfectly - As each of us has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.

To me, this means two things. 1) God has blessed us each with so many gifts and capabilities, we should share those for His glory and to help those around us. 2) We have received the ultimate gift - new life through the Blood of Jesus, so because we have been changed, so should our actions. 

Some of us may argue that they have a private personal relationship with Christ, and while this is very important, that relationship should be anything but private. Every inch of our lives should exude the love that Christ shows for us and we should in turn show that love to others unashamed. Honoring Christ through tithing, volunteering or reaching out to a new church member all scream, not boast, about the love He has instilled in us. 

If you are new to City Church, or have been an owner for years and still just haven't found your niche, I urge you to volunteer. Not only is giving your time and service for others one of the best ways to share God's love, but anything to do with City Church is ALWAYS a blast! Yes, the City Church crew is JUST as fun as they seem on stage. Give it a shot, you'll be glad you did!
