If you'd like to donate items for us to sell, you may drop them off on Friday, March 2nd. City Church's landlord is allowing us to sell items in the warehouse bays adjacent to our main auditorium and is donating the proceeds. It frees up space for them and raises funds for us! Your donated items will be added to the loot! There will be tons of furniture, electronics, and more available.

by: Lee Ellzey

I just finished reading a book entitled "Jesus Killed My Church" and despite its ominous title, it was actually a good read about how God worked in one couple's life - specifically the many lessons God allowed them to learn in the process of church planting and how that allowed them to be even more open to what God had in store for them as they continued serving Him and being obedient to His direction.

Sometimes we often get so caught up in what we believe we are called to do or be we can't see what God is really doing in our own lives and in the lives of those we have invested time in developing relationships. Cyndi and I have been on a journey of faith we have never experienced before - and despite not really understanding the end (or what we think the end should be) - we are beginning to see how God has used us in and on this journey! What we do know is that as we are faithful to the challenges and opportunities God provides us, He will use our words and lives to influence others - in ways that only He can.

Easter at the Civic Center will here in 7 Sundays! Who are you bringing with you that day? Who have you invited to attend with you that Sunday? Each of us has spheres of influence in our daily lives. People we work with. People we buy things from. People we have class with. People who live next door to us. People who repair our cars. People who serve us at restaurants. You get the picture - we all have people in our daily lives that we can invite to Easter at the Civic Center. People who need to hear the Gospel! People who need Jesus! God gives us opportunities every day - it's up to us to take advantage of them!

There's a great story in the Old Testament about Jonathan and his armor bearer defeating the Philistines. Jonathan continued to advance in spite of odds that seemed against him - confident his God would be with him. For the next seven weeks (and beyond), be confident that our God will be with us and let's each take advantage of those opportunities! It's not just WhyNotTallahassee - it's WhyNotNowTallahassee as well.
