This Sunday - New Summer Schedule!

It's our post-Easter service, and we are not slowing down!  We will begin our summer schedule by holding two services at The Warehouse this Sunday at 11:15 am and 6:00 pm. City Church Kids will be in full force during both services!

Dean will be starting a new series called TRUE[ish]. There are certain things we believe are true but are actually true-ish. What does that even mean? Come Sunday to find out. True, false, or true-ish?

City Speak

d

by Krissie Inserra

As most of you know, we started with 24 people in a living room 4 years ago.  More than half of them have moved on to other places, and on Easter Sunday, just 4 years into our church's history, we had the largest crowd ever.  Not that we're looking for a crowd. But as Dean says, numbers equal people and people equal souls. So yes, we care very much about numbers.

When I look back on the last four years in my life and in the life of my church, I can only respond by worshiping the God who orchestrated it all and is receiving all the glory.  During this time, Tommy went from "we don't know if he'll ever walk or talk, so we just need to wait and see" status to doing awesome in preschool and waiting eagerly for kindergarten (and kicking some butt in his non-competitive T-Ball league).  Dean and I went from "will we ever be able to give birth to another child?" to life with a very happy and active 11-month-old, Ty.  Our church went from 24 people in a living room to three services in our newly renovated warehouse.  In every area, lives have been changed.  Drastically.  Radically.

Yet for some reason, whenever I face a new challenge or obstacle, I'm afraid maybe God won't come through this time.  Maybe he's done changing lives and answering  prayers.  Obviously, this is completely ridiculous, but I bet if you're honest with yourself, you feel the same way too sometimes.  Perhaps you've been praying for someone to come to know Christ for years and still they mock God.  Maybe you've been trying to have a child for a painfully long time and it's just not happening.  It could be a relationship that you've been trying desperately to have or make work.  Maybe there's a job or a promotion that you've been hoping for.  Whatever the need, God desires to change lives and answer prayers.  But when I look back over the past four years, I realize there were things that I prayed for earnestly- good things- that did not come to fruition.  But if they would have, things would not have turned out the way they did for me.  God knew exactly what he was doing.

And He's just getting started.
