Well Said
 by Melissa Schaedel
Just when you think you have things under control, God gives you a huge wake up call! No matter how hard I try to fix things on my own if God's not in it and I'm not going to Him for wisdom I am going to fail miserably. These past several months I have learned how much I must rely on Him.
God allows us to go through trials and tribulations. So what are we going to do when they hit? Turn to Him or decide to go our own way but fail when trying to succeed on our own. For the longest time I found myself believing I could fix things on my own. I began to ignore those who loved me the most for fear of being told what to do...but after months of going through an emotional rollercoaster, I realized it just wasn't worth it anymore. I wasn't getting anywhere. I realized I must turn to my heavenly Father for comfort and knowledge and quit shutting out those God has placed in my life to be there for me through hard times. We are human and therefore people will fail us, but God never will.
Now that I have chosen to go to God first in hard times I have found that life is easier. Don't get me wrong, I still have down days but seeking the Lord first and knowing He is in control and has a plan takes a lot of the load and emotional stress off my back.
1 Chronicles 16:11 says "Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always". What a powerful verse. Yes, it is easier said than done but when we truly seek His face in the "storm" and fully rely on Him we will get through it!
The song "Praise You In This Storm" by Casting Crowns, reminds us that no matter how we are feeling or what we are going through God is in control. Our heavenly Father loves us that much!
I'll praise You in this storm, I will lift my hands
You are who you are no matter where I stand And every tear I cry you hold in your hand, although my heart is torn, I will praise you in the storm
Having a relationship with our heavenly Father is truly the most amazing thing. It gives me such relief knowing I can go to Him wherever I am. God has given me a huge opportunity to be there for others who may be going through similar situations. What an amazing gift that God would use me in this way. I am so undeserving.
