Well Said
Trusting by Teri Hill So, I'm finding myself currently on a new little adventure. It all
started with a conversation over pizza (as all good conversations do,
naturally), and a little less than two months later you can call me The
Well's very own Kids Director. I am so excited to call The Well home,
and be a part of what I believe God is doing through this church in
Tallahassee. But that makes it seem so easy. Like there wasn't a bit
of a process involved. Oh, but there was... and still is for that
matter!
You see, when Dean and Matthew first approached me
about the possible opportunity to be Well Kids Director my initial
reaction (at least in my head) was, "Uh uh. No way. You must have the
wrong person. My name is Teri. Nice to meet you!" I've always been hesitant of being in a leadership position. There's so much
responsibility that comes with it... I know what you're thinking, "She's
a genius for figuring that out." But it's true! And to be quite
honest, I didn't want any of it.
The truth of the matter is, I am inadequate. But
that has never stopped God before! I didn't want to have such a
responsibility as the Kids Director would require because I was trusting
in myself. It was through prayer and being in scripture that
the Lord made it evident that in my weakness He is and will continue to
be strong. There is no room for lame excuses anymore.
Now, three weeks in to this new little adventure, I
could not be more excited about where the Kids ministry at The Well is
headed! I feel like the little kid who wants to help her dad mow the
lawn, and he graciously accepts. God is letting me hold onto the
handles and walk with him up and down the yard, but it's not really me
who is doing anything. God is simply allowing me to participate!
A challenge for you, sweet eWell reader: What is God
wanting to accomplish in and through you that you need only trust Him
to do? 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 |
