everlasting truth, ever-changing culture |
The
Well is a church that is committed to connecting with the unchurched
community of Tallahassee. It is the desire of the Well to create an
atmosphere that is engaging to this generation in the twenty-first
century. While the culture of Tallahassee is always changing, we
believe that the message of Jesus Christ is as relevant today as it was
2,000 years ago. The Well is a church that will speak an everlasting
truth in an ever-changing culture.

We Need You. Seriously.

TWO URGENT NEEDS
1. Our Sunday tear down team (following the 5:30 p.m. service) has left us high and dry This past Sunday, only two people stuck around to help pack up the entire church. If you can commit to helping this week or any of the rest in 2009 to help tear down (a quick process with the more hands involved) please contact Lawton Graves (lawton@nomorethirst.org). WE NEED YOU. Seriously.
2. The Godby High School Football team has made it to the next round of post season play. All season long, The Well has helped to staff the team's concessions stands to give parents of players the opportunity to actually watch their children play at our home school. The team has another game on Friday, November 20th @ Cox at 7:00 p.m. and we've committed to help the team out. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Libby Wyman (elawyman@gmail.com) so we can get our schedule together. WE NEED YOU. Seriously.

GODBY CARES |
In partnership with the FSU Athletic Trainers Association, the Well is taking part in the "Godby Cares"
Thanksgiving canned food drive at our home school. All cans and/or
monetary donations will go to families in need at Godby High School.
Bring in your donations between now and Thanksgiving and drop them off
at the Godby Cares table in the Portico this Sunday.

| Well Said |
"Servants by Calling" by Donnie Brodeur My name is Donnie
Brodeur and I am student at Flagler College in Tallahassee majoring in Business
Administration. I became a Christian
very early in life and attended the same church until I became a member of The
Well two years ago, where I have served on the setup and tear down team ever
since.
I believe there is
no better way to serve on a Sunday than being on the setup team. Every few
weeks I get the chance to meet people from all different age groups and get to
know a little more about the people who attend The Well. I have also made some
lifelong friends along the way. Behind
the scenes, you also get to see the service come together and it is exciting to
be part something like that. For me it is more than just seeing the final product.
As Christians God has called us to serve in the church and I have come to the
point in my walk where I could not imagine not being involved and serving at
The Well each week.
A good example
that Jesus sets for us in the bible is found in John Chapter 13 where Jesus
commits an act of service by washing his disciples' feet. The act of washing
feet was a servant's job back then because feet were gross and people either
went barefoot or wore sandals and the roads were very dusty. Jesus was so eager
to serve that he humbled himself to that of a servant by washing his disciples'
feet. Through this story Jesus is calling us to serve one another. Serving
others is good, but I believe we can take it a step further than that by
serving in the church as one unit that serves one God who sent His son to die
on the cross for our sins.
What would Tallahassee
look like if we served others instead of ourselves? What would The Well look
like if there were more people who were committed to serving the church? I
would say that if we started serving others everyday and started getting
serious about serving at the church that The Well would be unstoppable in
reaching this city.
