everlasting truth, ever-changing culture |
The
Well is a church that is committed to connecting with the unchurched
community of Tallahassee. It is the desire of the Well to create an
atmosphere that is engaging to this generation in the twenty-first
century. While the culture of Tallahassee is always changing, we
believe that the message of Jesus Christ is as relevant today as it was
2,000 years ago. The Well is a church that will speak an everlasting
truth in an ever-changing culture.

Well Said
|
"Crazy Love?" by Brian Hartsfield A couple on the day of their wedding would more than likely describe
their love for each other as unexplainable, overwhelming, or possibly
crazy. But you must ask yourself is that honestly and truly a "crazy
love?" Love is a strong word to have by itself, putting the word crazy
in front of it, is well a little crazy. Let's say a year later one of
the newlyweds started neglecting the other. He or she acts as if their spouse
was not around or simply he or she ignores the other. Many, many, more
times than not that "crazy love" was lost in translation. Divorce. They split. So if two people being head over heels in love with each other
cannot sustain this crazy love, who can? I recently finished a
book titled Crazy Love by Francis Chan (I highly recommend it!). Chan
describes crazy love by the love that God has for us. Now I know that
sounds familiar, maybe a little repetitive for most. However, the way he
describes crazy love is straight up brilliant. Chan begins
testing the boundaries you and I have put on the the timeless, all
powerful God. He does this through a video on his book's website.
Follow this link and watch it! Once you are at the site, click on "Videos" and then on "The Awe Factor of God".... Incredible.
My boundaries I put on God were around the 10 to the 15th power
kilometers away from the earth. That is so far away! Then it ends at
100 million light years away!!! WOW! How big God must be. That blew my
mind! He created the universe and I cannot even understand how big
the universe is, how can I understand how big the creator of it is? God
continued to rock my world by then making me realize how so small and
insignificant i am (now i feel like i should not even capitalize i
unless i am taking about God). He is so big and powerful and I am so
small, yet he LOVES me! He knows the number of hairs on my head! Did I
mention the Creator LOVES me, NOT likes but loves. The most high God, Yahweh! Unbelievable. John 3:16 "For God so LOVED the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life. He the Creator, sent his son to die, sent him to die for you and me! I neglect God everyday. He, unlike the married couple, the soulmates; He has a TRUE
crazy love! The world's definition of love is so conditional it is
even hard for people that know Jesus to have even a grasp on God's
crazy love for us. If you arre comfortable and non-chalant about God's size and and love, something must be wrong!
