"NYC Bound" by Stephanie Thompson

For God has reserved a priceless inheritance for His children. It is kept in Heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.  And God, in His mighty power, will protect you until you receive this salvation, because you are trusting Him. 1 Peter 1:4-5

When I was recently asked to respond to the question "What has The Well meant to you?" I immediately thought of this verse. The Well has served as the "protector" of my salvation, not to trump the protection of the Vitamin G (meaning God for our "older" members). Not only has The Well protected my salvation, but it has also nurtured my salvation and made it something worth protecting. Both small groups and Sunday night services have developed and matured my faith. This growth has allowed the Holy Spirit to grab and toss me out of my comfort Christian zone and into the real world in which we live. A world absent of Christ that I am called to represent Him in. What a daunting task and tall order for a sinner, until I go to church on Sunday night or my small group. Here, I am charged and ready to "fight the good fight" as we  like to call it!

The Well has served as an energizer, encourager and nurturer of my faith and walk with Christ. The Lord
placed me at The Well for a purpose and for this I have been changed for the better. I'm going to miss The Well so much I might just have to plant one in New York City...hmm...what should it be called? The Swell perhaps?

College Community Group
The Well's college community groups are coming together this summer!  Join us each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. starting May 13th at Matthew Robinson's house.  Dinner each week is a cheap $3 followed by a time for bible study and discussion.  If you need more info, contact Dean or Matthew.

August 23, 2009
This fall, The Well launches a second service at Godby at 11:05 a.m.  Stay tuned for details on how you can help and join the 1105 Launch Team that will be meeting throughout the summer. Sunday, August 23rd is only 16 weeks away!

Baptisms
This past Sunday, The Well celebrated the baptisms of 14 people following our Sunday night service at Godby.  Check out some great pictures from the evening.

This Fall, The Well travels to Chapel Hill for the FSU vs UNC football game on Thursday, October 22nd. Weʼll be sticking around for an extended retreat weekend. For more information about the trip and to register, visit UNCRoadTrip.com.
