everlasting truth, ever-changing culture |
The
Well is a church that is committed to connecting with the unchurched
community of Tallahassee. It is the desire of the Well to create an
atmosphere that is engaging to this generation in the twenty-first
century. While the culture of Tallahassee is always changing, we
believe that the message of Jesus Christ is as relevant today as it was
2,000 years ago. The Well is a church that will speak an everlasting
truth in an ever-changing culture.

Well Said
|
"Change It Up" by Sarah Runge
Have you ever walked to the parking
garage, assuming you parked in your usual spot only to find you parked at the
other side of campus? Well, join the
club. Change can be hard, especially to
someone like me who likes a routine and no surprises. On a typical Tuesday afternoon searching for
my misplaced car I couldn't help but recall the advice I was given upon entering
college: "Live it up, enjoy it while you can, these are the best four years of
your life that you'll never get back." I
never really understood what that meant, until now. These years have certainly flown by
right before my eyes and now I am sad to see it all come to an end. I've made friendships that can never be
replaced and have learned so much about myself that I could have never imagined. In four years I have had one dorm, two
apartments, said goodbye to my childhood home to watch my parents move to
another state, added a brother-in-law, and I'm about to see my best friend get
married. Change isn't always welcomed
but it is inevitable.
As I prepare to graduate I question
where I will move to, what job I will land, and who I will meet. These are some pretty difficult decisions I
have never faced before and I cannot believe they are already here.
Although I
have faced multiple changes which I felt at the moment were too difficult to
handle, God has always brought me to where I'm meant to be. Even if it was different from the plan I had,
He has placed me on this path for His will and not mine. As I look to the future with some doubt I can't
help but realize that God is guiding me for what lies ahead. I believe nothing enters your life
accidentally and behind all experiences is our loving, sovereign God.
"And the Lord will guide you
continually, and satisfy your needs... and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water, whose waters never fail." Isaiah 58:11
So, I challenge myself and all of
you to be like the watered garden and trust God's unfailing love to lead you
through your times of change.
(Sarah Runge graduates in two weeks from The Florida State University with a degree in Sociology.)
