The Well is a church that is committed to connecting with the unchurched community of Tallahassee. It is the desire of the Well to create an atmosphere that is engaging to this generation in the twenty-first century. While the culture of Tallahassee is always changing, we believe that the message of Jesus Christ is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago. The Well is a church that will speak an everlasting truth in an ever-changing culture.

"For the single most important institution shaping Western culture is the university. It is at the university that our future political leaders, our journalists, our teachers, our business executives, our lawyers, our artists, will be trained. It is at the university that they will formulate or, more likely, simply absorb the worldview that will shape their lives. And since these are the opinion-makers and leaders who shape our culture, our worldview that they imbibe at the university will be the one that shapes our culture. If the Christian worldview can be restored to a place of prominence and respect at the university, it will have a leavening effect throughout society. If we change the university, we change our culture through those who shape culture." (Moreland & Craig)

WELL SAID
"Just Ask" by Matthew Robinson

d This Sunday night, take a look around.

No, really, stop and "smell the roses" for just an extra second or two.

A year and a half after launching at Godby High School, we're near capacity.  We have an amazing team of volunteers on stage, in the main house, and behind the scenes backstage and in the Kids' wing.

And on the Portico, the faces are different.  And there are many more of them.  And they're going to keep coming.

But one constant can always be found:

The Well is a church that will speak an everlasting truth in an ever-changing culture.

And at The Well, in this season of growth and momentum we must embrace a culture of service.

"Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.  Don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too." (Philippians 2:3-4, NLT)

It easy to get lost in the atmosphere that our team works hard to create; an atmosphere that is designed to honor God and connect and appeal with this generation.

But it all takes work.

Hard work.

And lot's of it.

I'm often asked "how can I help?"

And while I usually ask for someone else's challenge from the couch, I'm giving one to you right here...stop asking how you can help, and start helping!

Here's how:

-I recently wrote about one big lesson I learned in 2008: You can't say you're invested in something unless you invest both your time and your money.  Not time.  Not money.  Not time or money.  But time and money.  Give!  We're commanded to!

-We need ushers!  As our Sunday gathering continues to grow, open seats are going to be at a premium.  We need a team assembled (starting this upcoming Sunday!) to help guests find empty seats during the opening minutes of a Sunday night.

-We need a parking lot crew!  Dean's recently said that "the sermon begins in the parking lot" and we truly believe this.  We need smiling faces, helpful minds, and good old man power to greet and welcome and direct those coming in and out on a Sunday night.  From the drive in, to the Portico, to Guest Services, to sitting down, a story is told about how Christ is working in our lives...in your life.  Share your story!

-We need volunteers during the service...and we'll train you!  Can you click a mouse?  Can you flick a switch, turn a knob, or slide a button?  It really is that easy.  It takes nearly 20 people (every Sunday!) working behind the scenes to pull off what you see and hear.

-We need Kids Volunteers!  Each week our Kids Ministry is growing in the Ark.  Under the direction of Sarah Graves, children from 3 months through elementary school are taught how to grow in their faith just like us Big Kids.  If you can pass a background check and have a heart for youngsters, you can join in on the fun.

-We need your prayer!  Every Sunday a prayer team meets an hour before the service to pray over the evening, for our staff, for the people coming (and those that have not yet come!), and for you!  You can be a part of this team.

If you are interested and willing, stop thinking about it, and step up!  Shoot an email to matthew@nomorethirst.org and we'll get you in touch with one of our team leaders today.

The next five weeks at the Well are going to be some of the most fruitful we've ever experienced.  As we lead up to Easter, join us in becoming a part of the Well, using the talents and gifts with which you have been given and blessed to take an interest in others.

YOU are the Well.

And the best is yet to come!

UPDATE:  The Extreme Makeover Home Edition coordinators have confirmed that after an overwhelming response from "skilled" volunteers, the Well will not be responsible covering a shift during the five day build.

You can still visit the sight and help boost morale for all of the volunteers!  Check out the official spectator schedule and location information here.

1 Peter 2:2 tells all believers "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation."

In a secular culture that denies exclusive claims of truth, it is more difficult than ever to have gospel-centered conversations with unbelieving friends. It is also common to find Christians who are uncertain about what they truly believe.

At the Well we are announcing the creation of Crave, a monthly evening of studying God's Word together. Do not miss out on this exciting opportunity to explore, study, discuss, and understand the faith we claim to follow.

The first Crave will be on Monday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Matthew Robinson's house.
