The Well is a church that is committed to connecting with the unchurched community of Tallahassee. It is the desire of the Well to create an atmosphere that is engaging to this generation in the twenty-first century. While the culture of Tallahassee is always changing, we believe that the message of Jesus Christ is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago. The Well is a church that will speak an everlasting truth in an ever-changing culture.

"For the single most important institution shaping Western culture
is the university. It is at the university that our future political
leaders, our journalists, our teachers, our business executives, our
lawyers, our artists, will be trained. It is at the university that
they will formulate or, more likely, simply absorb the worldview that
will shape their lives. And since these are the opinion-makers and
leaders who shape our culture, our worldview that they imbibe at the
university will be the one that shapes our culture. If the Christian
worldview can be restored to a place of prominence and respect at the
university, it will have a leavening effect throughout society. If we
change the university, we change our culture through those who shape
culture." (Moreland & Craig)

WELL SAID
"Anticipation not Appointment!" by Matt Long (Acts 2:43-47)
The time I love more than anything is the moment our church begins flooding through the doors each Sunday night as the band begins to play the first song. I'm not sure what it is, but there is an excitement about it and a "buzz" that just happens. I can't explain it other than it being Gods presence in that place.
I had the opportunity this past Sunday to help greet and actually say hello to a lot of you that came through those doors and one thing that excited me was the since of anticipation as we entered in and gathered together for worship. As Jill and Andy lead us in song, I listened as our church worshiped not out of obligation or some sort of appointment, but from a fresh place that said "thank you God."
"Worship happens best when we get together to celebrate what God has done, and from that celebration, anticipate what God will yet do. You can not encounter this Holy God that reveals himself and then walk away like nothing is different...worship means change" -Mike Glenn
This past week the Well basketball team had its first win--now that is definitely something to celebrate! Before then we had lost six or seven straight games and to be honest, morale was low (wait, maybe that was just my energy lever due to my old age... the 70's were amazing!) As a team we had not experienced a win and it actually got to a point where we would anticipate loosing. At time we would go home frustrated and most of us knew why, be didn't think we could win. Once we had a heart change as a team and went into each game ready to play, we began to play better and eventually won. We had to set our minds to a different way of thinking--God has called us to do that as Christian.
The early church was being transformed daily and I have to think there was a "buzz" as well. These were people that every time they gathered together they truly believed God was present and that through Jesus His son, lives could be changed. Their encounter with a Holy God left them with nothing but praise towards Him and a desire to love one another. They expected God could and would change their lives and because of that, "the Lord added to their numbers those who were being saved".
Lord, give us a desire to live like this...
You guys are awesome and I can't wait for Sunday night! See you then.
