2011 Campaign Co-Chairs: Diana Greene, Marion County Schools and John Goff, Publix Super Makets
|
Greetings!
| |
The 2011 United Way Campaign officially began today with the community "On the Go" kick-off event! More than 1350 community members were loaded on charter buses and taken to funded partner agencies to see United Way in action.
"It is definitely a different style kick-off and approach then we have done before," Maureen Quinlan, United Way president said. "We always talk about the need but there is nothing like seeing the need."
Thanks to a generous sponsorship from CenterState Bank and the Ocala Star-Banner, the United Way was able to rent three charter buses and take participants throughout the community to see agencies that United Way has funding relationships with. While on the bus, participants heard campaign messages from Diana Greene and John Goff, the 2011 volunteer campaign chairs.
Diana and John announced that a goal of $2.1 million dollars would be the campaign destination for Marion County to reach by the end of the year!
"We know Marion County is going through a recession, but United Way chooses not to participate," John Goff, district manager of Publix Super Markets said. "During these challenging times, we need to step up and do what we can for our community." |

United Way welcomes our 2011 Loaned Executive Class!
| |

We are so grateful to have a great group of volunteers who will be assisting United Way with the campaign this year.
Loaned Executives work with United Way staff and volunteers on the Campaign Cabinet to raise money. A
company will either "loan" one of their employees to United Way, or will sponsor the hiring of an individual for the program. Special thanks to the companies that supported this year's Loaned Executive program and to the Loaned Executives for their hard work and dedication to the campaign. |
