2010 Publix Day of Caring Team
|
Greetings!
|
| Were you one of our volunteers that participated in the United Way's 17th annual Day of Caring event on Saturday, February 27? If so, thank you so much for your participation. Although the weather was cold and rainy, more than 1,400 volunteers came together to tackle more than 35 projects throughout Marion County.
Day of Caring offers area businesses, individuals, organizations and civic clubs the opportunity to help local nonprofit human service agencies accomplish much-needed projects during one day of organized volunteerism. Projects include facility improvements, neighborhood cleanups, construction of new playgrounds and rehabilitation of housing for the elderly.
Visit our Flickr Photostream to view more photos. For more information on how you can get involved next year, call the United Way at 732-9696. |
