Rancho Alegre
Farmer's Market
Greetings!

Thank you to all the visitors that continue to stop by the market! This Saturday, I have been told by the vendors that there will be much more produce available. Also, the weather looks like it might make it an indoor market day. If it does become an indoor day, remember, the market is still on, we're just inside!
The market will run at it's regular time from 8:30-12. And don't forget, as always, Rancho Alegre offers great family fun for visitors, so after grabbing some goods, stay and enjoy the day with the horses and a hayride around the farm. And if you have a child with a fall or winter birthday coming up, this is a perfect opportunity to check out the facilities. Ask us anything on Saturday if you have questions!
Come out and support your local farmers and artisans, and remember to bring your reusable bags!
Below is a list of our amazing vendors attending this Saturday, who are committed to promoting a holistic, wholesome, sustainable, and nutritious lifestyle, and are excited to offer their items to you!

Organic Co-Op at Rancho Alegre!

Thank you to all of our friends who have expressed an interest in helping us get our produce co-op up and running. I wanted to share with you the information on how this works. All we need to get started is an initial $48.00 to cover our first box, which will consist of a two weeks' supply of four to six varieties of fruits, and 6-8 varieties of vegetables, all certified organic.

Our supplier is Global Organic Specialty Source, which is a distributor in Florida that uses local whenever possible, but is also able to include out of season items such as bananas, citrus fruits, berries, etc. I have participated in three co-ops using this source and they have always had great quality produce. The prices are 25%-50% below grocery store prices, with a much better variety of items. They also offer bulk tofu, organic juices, bulk nuts, dried and fresh herbs, salad dressings, and other items we may want to include as we grow.

We are presently waiting to hear from Global on a definite delivery date, as well as input from all of you on what you would like on a regular basis. An example of a box would include onions, potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, two or three varieties of greens (kale, chard, spinach), sweet potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, apples, carrots, bananas, pears, mushrooms, beets, celery, plums, and avocados.

I would love to hear feedback from you and answer any questions you may have. I will send information out on our first order and delivery date as soon as we receive it.

Thanks again for your interest!
