A message from the POA President.
Greetings Doubletree Residents. As you are aware real estate has experienced a challenging market over the past several months. The challenge continues, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. The market is showing signs of improvement and real estate appears to be making a comeback. Lot sales at Doubletree are increasing, new homes are being built, and the eyesores left behind are finally being completed. We are not completely out of the woods yet, but there are clear indications we are getting there.
Be assured, what's best for Doubletree is a priority as we move forward. Over the past couple years you have seen many positive changes. More changes are in store. Your POA management team has made significant progress in past months and will continue to do so. Our goal in 2011 is to accomplish many things. Parks, road and entrance improvements, and a better quality of life, just to name a few.
Always feel free to contact our community manager, Terry Pingel. He has proven committed to the community and will always be available to answer questions or listen to comments. He can be reached at 945-1331 daily.
Randy Minas
President / POA

 STOP - It's not just a Suggestion.
Beyond popular belief STOP does not stand for Slow, Tap, Observe, Proceed.
Several residents have expressed a concern regarding a lack of compliance from drivers in our community when approaching a stop sign. The Doubletree Security Committee has also met with Security Supervisor Batton and requested closer attention from security for those who disregard a posted stop sign.
Webster's dictionary defines STOP as "to halt, to refrain from moving". Rolling through a posted stop sign, whether quickly or slowly, does not meet the objective of the sign's purpose.
Covenant citations may be issued to those who disregard a stop sign. Please pay attention and keep our community safe.

 Stay off the Ice
Each winter Doubletree's ponds and lake freeze over. Around this time we begin to see these waters thaw. Its important to remind yourself and your family that the ice is NOT safe. If you see someone walking on the ice or merely playing near the ice, please call security immediately at 947-4440.

Doubletree Fireworks Celebration The Doubletree "Lake" Committee is investigating having a fireworks display on Independence Day weekend. The committee is suggesting voluntary contributions from the residents of Doubletree and would like to know who would contribute. Please send an email to tpingel@doubletreelake.net and tell us if you would be interested in making a contribution. If enough residents show an interest planning will continue. |

Bad Human Bad Human
This is a friendly reminder to all you dog owners out there. Please pick up after your pet. He would do it for you.
The EPA has deemed pet waste as a "non-point source of pollution", which is the same category as oil and toxic chemicals.
When one does not pick up after their pet the waste has a pretty good chance of making it into our most valuable amenity, the lake. The EPA says the decay of pet waste creates nutrients for weeds and algae. These organisms thrive on the waste left behind. The result.. a decrease in oxygen levels causing a number of problems.
If you don't live on the lake and your thinking.. "why do I care", think about this. According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, pet waste can contribute to diseases animals pass to humans, called zoonoses. Dog droppings can contain parasites that can linger for years, in the soil, even after the dropping is gone. In a nutshell... GROSS!!
What can you do? Pick it up is the best answer. But, if you are just too busy, find a pooper-scooper type company to do it for you. Here are a couple links to local companies.
