Security Announcement |
|
You may have noticed that our Security Department is undergoing changes. These changes are a proactive attempt by the Doubletree POA Board of Directors to deliver a more unified, secure, and financially sound security department.
As of July 7, 2010, the Doubletree Security Department will be managed and operated by Midwest Security, a local contract security firm which has provided security services in the NW Indiana market for over 25 years. Currently they provide security services to other gated communities such as Briar Ridge. They have also been our provider of lake patrol for the past 1 ½ years. All Doubletree security personnel will have the opportunity to interview and continue in service to our community under the management of Midwest Security.
The decision in favor of this change was made after several months of deliberation and fact-finding. The Doubletree community will benefit in many ways. Immediately you will witness an increase in patrol. Patrols will address not only security and safety issues, but oversee covenant compliance as well. The armed-officers Midwest Security chooses to patrol Doubletree will be professional, experienced, and ready to serve our community. Each is expected to be courteous, fair, and firm. The management team that leads them is dedicated to a service-first mentality. In addition, the POA will see increased savings as Midwest Security absorbs and consolidates the costs associated with an in-house security program.
In closing, please keep in mind the new system brings new faces. Many of you will not be recognized by the person attending the gate or patrolling the neighborhood. If you are asked to prove your identity, understand it will take time and effort by everyone. We encourage everyone to be courteous as we are certain courtesy will be returned.

POA Infraction Notices |
You may be one of several that have received a Doubletree Lake Estates Infraction Notice from the POA lately. The POAs intention is to serve the community and improve the neighborhood and these notices serve as an appropriate step to doing so. Those who do not address their infraction within the allotted time will receive follow-up notices that may include additional fees and fines.
The Doubletree community has been heard and the POA will be increasing their effort to identify and enforce the rules of our covenants going forward.

Doubletree Lake Committtee Report by Resident Lou Rinaldo |
|
Boat and Trailer Permits - We have noticed a few boats and trailers on and off the lake without permits. Permits are required and those not complying will be ticketed and fined. Fines can be double the cost of your permit. If you see any boats or trailers without the required permit you are encouraged to contact Doubletree Security at 947-4440.
Dock Numerals - A number of lakefront homeowners have not yet placed numerals indicating their house address on their docks. This is requirement designed specifically for safety purposes. Please comply if you haven't done so.
Adult Supervision - We would like to remind everyone that children require adult supervision while swimming, boating, or fishing from anywhere in and around our lake. |

Lake Testing - Doubletree Lake |
Great News!! Once again our lake water quality testing has come back favorable. Please continue to treat your lake as our #1 asset.
- Avoid fertilizers with phosphorous as it causes algae to grow.
- Don't allow soapy water from washing your car to enter the lake through street drains.
- Keep grass clippings off the road so they don't enter a drain and enter the lake.
- Pick up after your pets.
Together we can keep Doubletree Lake clean and healthy. |
