Committee Reports: Lake Committee Report by Lou Rinaldo
Kids Fishing Tournament Reminder, Sunday, May 16. The Lake Committee will host another Kids' Fishing Tournament on May 16 from 1pm to 3pm. The tournament will be held on the northwest end of the lake near the front gate. Refreshments and snacks will be provided for the kids. As usual, the tournament will be open to all Doubletree East and West kids 18 and under. Nieces, nephews, and grandkids of Doubletree residents are welcome to participate. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in two age categories. Bring your own rod if you have one. We will have a limited supply of fishing rods for those who don't have one. Bait will be provided. Fishing experts will be available to help the kids with bait and removal of fish from lines. No experience is needed as our experts will be happy to teach and assist the kids. Please call Julissa at Doubletree to register in advance. She will require names and ages as well as your phone number in the event of a date change due to bad weather.
Lake General Meeting. As in prior years we have scheduled one of our two meetings open to all homeowners in Doubletree East. The meeting will be held at the clubhouse on Tuesday, May 11 at 6pm and will last no longer than one hour. The purpose of the meeting is to share information on lake related matters and introduce improvements and changes which have been implemented or are being considered. Most importantly we will give all an opportunity to provide input and ask questions.
Safety & Regulations. Safety is everyone's responsibility. We encourage any resident observing unsafe conditions or practices in violation of lake rules to report the matter to security at 947-4440. If you concerns are not addressed in an immediate fashion feel free to contact Doubletree's management at 945-1331.
Doubletree Boat Ramp & Dock. We would like to remind everyone that the Doubletree ramp and dock are intended exclusively for launching boats and removing boats from the lake. Fishing, swimming or standing on the dock or ramp is prohibited.
Swimming Safety. Just a reminder. Children under the age of 14 need adult supervision when swimming anywhere in the lake.
Lake Patrol. Lake patrol will be re-started once again on a periodic basis. They will be given our Rules & Regs and monitor for conformance.
Special Events Committee Report by Deborah Laverty
Spring Cleaning. For those residents who signed up for the mid-May annual Community Garage Sale, Spring Cleaning will mean clearing out no longer needed items stored away in closets and basements and making some cash. The Special Events Committee for the first time is holding its annual garage sale May 13, 14, and 15 in conjunction with the Town of Winfield. Good luck to all who signed up for the event through the town and here's hoping your trash will prove to be someone else's treasure. |
