Committee Reports

Lake Committee by Lou Rinaldo
Our February meeting was cancelled due to a snow storm so there isn't much to report this month. One reminder; the Lake Committee is looking to fill a vacancy created when one of our members moved away. We will be looking to fill the opening with a ski boat owner to represent those who enjoy skiing and tubing. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 6pm to 7pm at the Doubletree clubhouse. Those interested in serving should submit their names and include a brief statement about themselves and how they could benefit the committees and POA. Send this info to tpingel@doubletreelake.net. All names submitted will be considered by the Lake Committee and a recommendation will be presented to the POA for approval.

Special Events Committee
There are a few events upcoming. Our annual Easter Egg hunt will be held the day before Easter on Saturday, April 3rd at 11am. For those of you who attended last years egg hunt, rest assured, we have enough eggs for everyone. Over 1000 eggs will be filled with goodies and special prizes. Bring your baskets and enjoy the hunt. Also on our agenda is St. Patrick's Day at Picasso's. Picasso's will be serving up Corned Beef & Cabbage for this special night. Doors will open at 3pm on March 17th. The Special Events Committee meets monthly and always needs members. If interested email Terry at tpingel@doubletreelake.net.

Our subdivision's sewer system operates on several sewer lift stations throughout the community. On a few occasions over the past years (three times as of 12/2009) these lift stations have been compromised by household items that have entered the systems likely from being sent down drains or flushed from residents. Each time this happens the stations require maintenance at a cost range from $1,500.00 to $3,000.00 per service call, all at the expense of the residents in Doubletree (POA). Please be aware of this before flushing items such as diapers, towels, clothing, and hygiene items or anything else that may enter the system and create and blockage.

DBL East Non-Resident Stickers

Doubletree East residents may purchase these auto stickers for their children, parents, fellow car poolers, etc. Stickers will only be sold to registered Doubletree East residents in good standing with the POA. Each sticker is the responsibility of the resident as well as actions of their person who receives it.

Popular Beliefs
We often hear March "comes in like a lion and out like a lamb", meaning the first day of March is often stormy and the last day is usually mild and warm. Another, "April borrowed from March 3 days and they were ill". This refers to the first three days of April, which are generally rough and blustery like March.
