The long anticipated wait for Picasso's to reopen is over. Picasso's Restaurant & Lounge is now open for finer casual dining.

 

Picasso's menu offers FRESH choices of pastas, steaks, chicken, fish, and more. All prepared by executive chef Patrick Griffin and priced to fit your budget.

 

The New Picasso's offers a full liquor bar with martinis, great wines, and a draft beer of the month. September's featured beer is Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy, which packs a crisp, light flavor of lemonade. Perfect with the Big Pappa Burger or Picasso Ribeye. October will feature Indiana's Upland Brewing Company's Dragonfly IPA. Lots of malt and seven hop additions create a malty Ale with a floral nose and bitter taste. Or try a glass of Manilow Pinot Grigio with an awesome Linguini & Clam Sauce entree.

General Lake Meeting - October 13, 2009: The Lake Committee will hold its bi-annual meeting on October 13, 2009 at Doubletree's clubhouse to discuss initiatives being worked on, review completed action items, and future plans. All residents of Doubletree East are welcome as we would love to receive additional input from homeowners.

 

House Address on Docks: We would like to thank all those who placed their house numbers on their docks as suggested earlier. The intent of the program is to provide an accurate address for rescue workers in the event of an accident on the lake. The committee has discussed making this a requirement for 2010 and will likely make a recommendation to the POA on this matter.

 

Kids' Fishing Tournament: Due to scheduling difficulties for the Lake Committee members who volunteer their time to run the kids' tournament we have decided not to have the event this fall. The earliest we could have enough volunteers would have been in mid October. We believe the fishing results would have been poor along the shore since fish tend to seek deeper water during cooler seasons. Also, the cooler weather conditions would likely deter participants. The kids' tournament will be scheduled for next spring and will hopefully be bigger and better than ever.

Please remember to keep fertilizers, grass clippings, and fallen leaves from reaching the lake. All these things can cause years of damage. If you have any questions regarding the lake or to report an act you feel is detrimental to our lake, contact Ron Johnson at (219)945-1331.

 

Just a reminder, Dogs must be kept on a leash in Doubletree. Also, please clean up what your little buddy leaves behind, even if in an empty lot. He would do it for you.
