POA Committee Reports
Special Events Committee by chairperson Deborah Laverty
One person's trash might well be another person's treasure so be sure and take part in the community-wide garage sale on June 13.
Some 30 residents in both Doubletree East and West are taking part so there should be lots of treasures for everyone to go around.
Our next Special Events Committee meeting is June 9th at 6pm at the clubhouse. We will be planning and discussing several future events such as the Back to School Ice Cream Social and New Years Eve Party at Picasso's.
Lake Committee by Lou Rinaldo
Flag Warning System: You may have noticed a flag pole has been erected near the boat ramp. A second will be raised at the main gate very soon. As a reminder the color designations are as follows; Green (lake is open to all allowed activities). Orange (No wake, swimming is permitted). Yellow (No wake, No swimming). Red (Lake is closed to all activities).
Boat Patrol: A pontoon boat designated for boat patrol and other lake related purposes has been purchased and is scheduled for delivery this week. A security company has been enlisted to patrol the lake to maintain safety and to ensure homeowners get maximum enjoyment from this most precious asset and we are asking all boaters and swimmers to fully cooperate with them. The Lake Committee would like to thank Doubletree's developer Randy Minas for funding the purchase of the boat and continuing to support our community.
Dock Designation: Those attending the General Lake Meeting on May 12 heard a request that all docks within the community have a corresponding house number clearly labeled on it. This is being done for easy identification in the event of an emergency. The numerals suggested are 4" high, plastic, and have a metallic looking finish. They are available at Menards for $.97 ea.
Lake Bulletin Board: You may have noticed that a bulletin board has been installed at the boat ramp. A variety of important information will be detailed on this board; Top-Ten Lake Rules, Flag Warning System, and more. We encourage you to take a look.
Water Quality: Last year we had lined up the DNR to test the quality of our lake water. As mentioned in May's newsletter they will no longer be providing this service. Ron Johnson from Doubletree's offices has arranged for another firm to begin testing next week. We will evaluate the results and report our findings in the next newsletter.
Kids Fishing Tournament: In addition to the article regarding the fishing tournament, we would like to hear from homeowners on whether additional tournaments should be held. We would also like to receive input on suggestions or changes which might be considered for future events. We discussed the possibility of hosting an event open to adults. The event would require an entry fee which would be converted to cash prizes and Lake Committee fundraising. Please contact Ron Johnson at
