Searching for a Special Needs SchoolI am looking for a school for my 10-year-old mentally handicapped daughter. She also has medical issues that keep her out of school often. Unfortunately, she cannot read or do simple math so I am looking for a school that has a low student/teacher ratio and has a safe and loving learning environment. She is very well behaved, social, sweet, attentive and wants to learn. She is a very typical child but has severe learning and processing delays. The problem I am having is that the majority of schools in Miami are for children with Autism or Down Syndrome and she has neither condition. Do you know of a great school for my daughter? Your ideas are much appreciated. I am also considering homeschooling so your feedback on that option is welcomed. |
