Celebrate Memorial Day by Dressing Down for Our Troops! From Amy Zambrano and Winnie Pritchett: REPLY Memorial Day is almost here (Monday, May 28) and iPadsforsoldiers.org is asking that you support our troops by "Dressing Down" again. What does this mean? Just ask your school principal or your boss to rally YOUR troops (students/co-workers) to wear red, white and blue to school or work on the day of your choice on or around Memorial Day, in exchange for a donation to iPadsforsoldiers.org. Last year schools and businesses all over the U.S. "dressed down" to raise money for iPads for our troops. We receive between 10-25 new requests every day from soldiers. We currently have over 2,000 that need fulfillment. It's an easy initiative for an important cause. Need more information? A banner? A flyer? Please Let us know! Thank you, on behalf of our troops!* |
Intervention Advice Does anyone know anything about interventions? Between alcohol, drugs and weight issues over the past seven years, a friend of mine has take a serious turn for the worse and is spiraling out of control. I am beginning to think it's only a matter of time before she will die or hurt someone else. If anyone can share information on an institution that can help facilitate the intervention process, I would greatly appreciate it. Many thanks in advance.

Roller Coaster Marriage It seems that my roller coaster marriage is stuck at the bottom and needs a mechanic so we can continue to enjoy the ride. If you have a marriage counselor that you highly recommend, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it. I would prefer a doctor who takes my insurance (BCBS). Thank you!

Looking for a Great Party Band
From Ashley Schutz: REPLY I am chairing a charity fundraiser in the fall and the band we thought would play (and donate their fee) is no longer available. Can anyone recommend a fun party band that won't break our budget? Every dollar we spend on event expenses is money that won't go to the charity so we are mindful of finding a great band at a great cost. We're planning a classic surfing/Beach Boys-themed event. Thank you!

If You Are Considering Homeschooling, Consider Us!
From Christina Nobbe: REPLY I meet parents every day who complain of their child struggling in school; falling behind, getting into trouble and having problems paying attention, among other issues. I started out as a homeschooling mom and founded New Village Academy for parents like me, who expect and want more for their child. NVA students receive a great deal of help and attention. They study a customized curriculum and work at their own pace, in tiny groups overseen by a K-12 certified teacher. If you are looking for an effective alternative to traditional schooling, call 305.321.0031 to discuss fall enrollment or click HERE for more information on our school.*

Our Final Concert! I hold a violin concert each spring but have hit a snag this year. We've outgrown our space, which is a wonderful problem, but it means we don't have room for our June 10th show. We're looking for a space that can hold about 30 violinists. It would be great if the room also had a piano. Do you know of a venue that can accommodate this type of show? I will gladly make a donation or pay a small fee for the space. Thank you!
