Not a JABBER? That Simply Can't Be!

Are all your friends JABBERS? Forward this newsletter
and remind them to join our online grapevine!

Dear JABBERS: Have you ever seen 500 moms in one place at one time (wait ... I'm not finished) blogging? Well, I haven't either. But I came pretty darn close last week when my colleague Dixie and I attended the fourth annual Mom 2.0 Summit! The Summit is a
Dixie and Boo at Mom 2.0
professional conference that attracted more than 450 influential female entrepreneurs who create online content. This year the conference was held at the Ritz-Carlton on Key Biscayne. We attended a few lectures and break-out sessions and met a lot of very impressive, accomplished women. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was the unmistakable clicking sound of hundreds of women blogging! Right then and there, while listening to the panel in front of them. This scene was new to me, but the idea really wasn't so foreign. I too spend my days spreading the word!

Although JAB is not a blog, we too are proud to have mobilized an online community of loyal readers. According to the Mom 2.0 professionals, at least 85 percent of the financial decisions in our country are made by none other than Mom. (One ad exec even joked that we have veto power over the remaining 15%!) We JABBERS can certainly attest to this!

If you are in search of just the right way to reach Mom, try JABBING! You might also consider signing up for next year's conference. Rumor has it the venue will be New Orleans! Jazz Fest, anyone? (We can multi-task, right?)

But if you REALLY want to get Mom's attention, I suggest a little TLC. A cozy stretch of one-on-one time that cannot be found on any JAB Newsletter or blog or conference or book. A memory like that, money can't buy.

Happy JABBING!

-Boo

A Heartfelt Thank You to JABBERS
From Laura Gonzalez-Pola: REPLY

Two weeks ago, I wrote to JABBERS asking for help for one of my high school students who, due to a difficult family situation, needed a new laptop. JABBERS, you never cease to amaze me. Due to your generosity, we were able to replace the student's laptop and help with other expenses. When he saw the new laptop he cried and was in a state of shock. Then, he learned that wonderful readers had donated enough money to help pay for school items and he couldn't believe it. With the money we have raised, we may be able to get him his own saxophone so that he doesn't have to rent one from his high school next year (he was accepted into the music program at his magnet school). I wish you all could have seen his face. The most amazing part is that JABBERS helped him out of the kindness of their hearts and were so quick and willing to give, just because of a JAB post. Thank you again!

The Luxury Rental Market continues to strengthen

By Ashley Cusack, EWM RealtorsAshley Cusack

While the high end real estate market has started to come back as I wrote in my post last week, the high end rental market has always been pretty strong (rentals of $8,500+/month).  But we're starting to see more and more people paying higher prices for rentals these days, helping our luxury rental market get even stronger. So far this year, 6 high end single family homes have been rented in the Gables/Grove/Ponce-Davis area, with another 2 pending rental. Comparing this to the same time frame in 2011 and 2010, we are renting the same number of homes, but rates are up across the board. We have seen a 14% increase in prices since 2010! It's all good news recently for Miami real estate! To visit Ashley's website, click HERE.*
