The National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) is a national organization representing the Ayurvedic profession in the United States. Its mission is to preserve, protect, improve and promote the philosophy, knowledge, science and practice of Ayurveda for the benefit of humanity. The purpose of the Association is to provide leadership within the Ayurvedic profession and to promote a positive vision for Ayurveda and its holistic approach to health and wellness. Ruth Schlesinger, M.S., L.Ac.

Ruth holds a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She became a California licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in 2001, specializing in fertility and assisting women during the course of the their pregnancies, labor, birth and post-partum periods. She also works with gynecology, emotional imbalances, pain management and the treatment of addictions. Shortly after she became licensed, Ruth started working in Pacifica and opened a clinic called Persimmon. After over 6 successful years at Persimmon, she sold her practice and opened Blossom Healing Center in Sebastopol, CA.
