Anything to Declare?     April 2010

Greetings!

A new financial year, a new focus.

2009/2010 will be long-remembered as one of the most challenging years in recent history. Post General-Election and bailout of Greece, EU tax authorities, including customs will feel the pressure from above to enforce revenue collection to the max, a trend that will only increase in the forthcoming "Age of Austerity".  As we have discussed in previous editions, the bar has been raised in certain areas of customs law and with the Modernised Customs Code waiting in the wings, the rules will get even stricter.

Therefore, in this edition of Anything to Declare we discuss why employing customs planning now will give your business a head-start over your competitors and will leave you well placed to face the challenges of the next couple of years
