10:30 a.m. ASSEMBLY: "Holy Is the Place I Stand"
Speaker: Luke Stevens-Royer. Summer is often a time of "slowing our pace," finding time for respite and renewal, hoping to strike a balance between leisure and labor. Whether one has the privilege to travel to exotic places or stay close to work and home for summer, how do we celebrate and engage the dignity and beauty of both work and play, wherever we find ourselves? How do we slow our pace, re-engage with the natural world, and affirm a wide range of life experience with the notion, "Holy is the place I stand to give whatever small good I can."

Rock the Garden at FUS
Rock the Garden, the hottest outdoor concert in the Cities, sold out in record time. You can't buy a ticket, but you can still hear the music and hang out with the coolest people around. How? Come to FUS on June 16, 6:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. to hear the music from the FUS patio. (The concert takes place on the Walker Art Center lawn.) Bring dinner and drinks for your group, and patio chairs or blankets and then just kick back and enjoy the view of the city and music of great local bands making it big on the national scene -- Howler, the Tune Yards, Doomtree, Trampled by Turtles, and The Hold Steady. (Full disclosure, you can't see the bands from FUS, but you can hear really well.) FUS contact: Madalyn Cioci.
