This Sunday, April 15
9:30 a.m. FORUM:
"I'm New at Being Old" Lucy Rose Fischer. There is a "use it or lose it" principle for cognitive ability-if we stimulate our brains, we continue to grow dendrites, even in old age. This is a presentation about the power of creativity in later life, using a combination of research, personal stories, and vivid illustrations. Fischer shares her own experience of launching her art career around age 60 when she asked herself: "How old do I have to be to follow my dream?"
10:30 a.m. ASSEMBLY: "The Catholics Among Us"
Speaker: Diggitt McLaughlin, Intern Minister. Our shared humanist values create a bond between UUs and Roman Catholics. Yet Catholics in the community are facing pressure from the church hierarchy to act counter to these values. Catholics who have become UU can be stressed by dissension within their own families and among old friends. What might Catholic UUs share that brought them here? How might we reach out to Catholics in distress among our friends? This sermon opens a topic that will be discussed further at a gathering later in April, when we hope to hear from our UU Catholic friends and members.

Much of the staff and lay leadership have committed to participate. You may participate as much or as little as you like, receive each group message or a daily digest.
