This Sunday, August 28
ASSEMBLY: "Creating Beauty in a Broken World: Connecting Beauty and Justice" Art in the Gallery Committee. Some have equated the search for justice in the world with the search for beauty, in that each often involves balance: just as we are attracted to balanced symmetry in an object or even a person's face and find it beautiful, we seek balance and fairness in the relationships between peoples. This assembly will explore these connections more deeply, drawing from writings such as Terry Tempest Williams' "Finding Beauty in a Broken World" and the work of the Barefoot Artists in Rwanda.
